TTC CEO Message 2020 COVID-19 Response
Posted on 03/23/2020

March 20, 2020
Dear Shareholders & Descendants,
We are in unprecedented times with the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). With the closing of schools, government offices and businesses we know that there aren’t only health risks, but financial risks to all of us. I wanted to let you know what The Tatitlek Corporation (TTC) is doing in this time of uncertainty.
First, I want to tell you that we continue to operate and serve our shareholders, employees, customers and community while safeguarding the company’s assets and resources.
Shareholders
Our shareholder services team is open and processing all change requests, such as account and address changes. We are asking that all Shareholders make requests via telephone or email. Additionally, during our 1st quarter board meeting, the Board approved a $25.00 per share dividend to be distributed on May 1, 2020.
Employees
Our Tatitlek Emergency Response Team is meeting daily to ensure the protection of our employees and maintain essential business operations. We have taken important steps to protect our employees, including the cancellation of all non-essential travel and requiring remote work from home for much of our staff. We have instigated disinfecting plans with our office janitorial crews and added sanitizing supplies to our work spaces and are following CDC, OSHA and local health official guidelines in how we conduct our work. We have had no employees infected with COVID-19 to this date.
Customers
We continue operations on each of our contracts, with many adjusted to allow for remote work and proper social distancing and/or protective equipment. We have worked with our clients in all instances to protect our staff and the public, while completing the mission for the customer.
Community
In the Village of Tatitlek we have temporarily closed the Kelly House and monthly events. The Kelly House employees have realigned their activities and community events to limit community exposure while still providing benefits to the community. We are working with the IRA Council to assist them, with the help of sister organizations like Chugachmiut and Chugach, to provide proper response and precautions for COVID-19 in the Village.
Our team is also included in a regional effort to help share best practices and procedures with other Native Corporations and organizations in our region. Through the Alaska Federation of Natives we have participated in several teleconferences with the Alaska Delegation and Tara Sweeney, Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs at the Department of Interior to stay updated on current events as well as discuss urban and rural Alaskan challenges and solutions.
Secondly, you can also do your part to help in this time by following a few simple steps:
1) Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
2) Wash your hands regularly using soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
3) Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough;
4) Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a cleaning spray or wipes;
5) Practice social distancing at all times; and
6) If you have any symptoms (fever, cough or respiratory issues), stay home and isolate yourself from others – especially our elders.
Lastly, we will continue to update you as we navigate these unique challenges. We also encourage you to stay informed of the latest public information and guidance which can be found on the CDC Website (www.cdc.gov ) and the Alaska Department of Health (www.dhss.alaska.gov ). Please stay safe and abide by the community guidelines wherever you live. We are a resilient people and will make it through this volatile period by working together.
Sincerely,
Roy Totemoff

The Affordable Care Act and Alaska Native People
By ANTHC and SCF Public Relations
Beginning January 1, 2014, every American must demonstrate health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act. This means if you do not already have coverage you will be required to purchase health insurance or face a penalty when filing your taxes. The tax penalty could be as much as $695 per adult and $347.50 per child.
Alaska Native and American Indian people are exempt from the requirement to purchase insurance if they can show evidence of:
a) Enrollment in a federally recognized Tribe
b) Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) shareholder status, or
c) Eligible to receive services from an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility/Tribal
health care provider.
To qualify for this exemption, Alaska Native and American Indian people will have to apply for the exemption at www.healthcare.gov or through a paper application process. There may be a requirement to send a copy of your tribal enrollment card or other supporting documents. Please do not send the original as it will not be returned to you.
Even with this exemption, Alaska Native and American Indian people may choose to purchase insurance. Alaskans will have a new option of purchasing health insurance through the federal marketplace as early as October 2013 for plan coverage effective January 1, 2014. Some Alaskans will qualify for premium subsidies based on income. For instance, an individual earning up to $57,400 or a family of four earning up to $117,760 may receive financial assistance when purchasing insurance.
For more information on the Affordable Care Act, please visit www.healthcare.gov.
Email: healthreform@anthc.org This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Q: What if I already have health care coverage?
A: If you have health care coverage through Medicaid, Medicare, Denali KidCare, Veteran’s Benefits or your employer provides health insurance, you have met the requirements of the Individual Mandate and do not need to purchase additional health care coverage.
Q: Will I still be able to get health care services at my IHS/Tribal health facility?
A: Yes, you will still be able to get care at your IHS/Tribal health facility. The health care services provide at IHS/Tribal health facilities are not changing.
Q: How do I enroll in a Tribe?
A: Tribal enrollment rules are different for every Tribe. You are most likely to qualify for Tribal enrollment in the village where your family comes from. Contact your family’s Tribe(s) to learn about what is required for enrollment. Tribal addresses can be found atwww.ncai.org/tribal-directory. You can also contact the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Regional Office, at (800) 645-8465, option 1.
Q: Does my Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB), issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), count?
A: While the CIB is an important document, you will still need to show proof of Tribal enrollment to qualify for the exemption from the tax penalty.
Q: Does it have to be a card or can it be a letter?
A: The tribe may choose to issue an enrollment card or provide a letter that verifies tribal status.
Q: Do I have to establish blood quantum?
A: Some Tribes may require a minimum blood quantum, so it’s important to contact the Tribe.

What Is The Dividend 'Record Date' And What Does It Mean For Shareholders?
Posted on 12/08/2011
by cassidy davis
What is the dividend ‘record date’?
The ‘record date’ is the date on which the company checks its records to view the current shareholders of the company entitled to the declared dividend payment as announced on the declaration date.
What does the ‘record date’ mean for me as a shareholder?
Legally, if an individual is not in the company’s records on the ‘record date’ that individual will not receive the declared dividend payment. This means the gifting of shares process MUST be completed before the record date for the individual who is gifted shares to receive the declared dividend payment. Dividend amounts are usually declared one month prior to the dividend distribution dates of September, December, March and July.
Please be aware that this process is federal law and The Tatitlek Corporation is not able to change it or make any exceptions.
Any questions regarding this may be directed to the Shareholder Services Department at shareholderservices@tatitlek.com or (907) 278-4000.

The Tatitlek Corporation Talent Bank

by cassidy davis
Hello Shareholders,
Shareholder Services is very excited to announce the implementation of our new shareholder talent bank. Shareholder hire continues to be a high priority for The Tatitlek Corporation (TTC) and the creation of this database will greatly enhance the development of shareholder hire and employment within the corporation. The talent bank allows shareholders, descendants and spouses to profile their individual employment qualifications and experience by completing and submitting a talent bank form. This information is then used to link qualified shareholders with open employment opportunities at TTC and its subsidiaries.
The talent bank form questionnaire will provide us with a comprehensive outline of your skills, experience, education, employment interests and any certificates or licenses held. This information will be used to identify and notify qualified and interested shareholders of employment opportunities within the TTC family of companies. Completion of the talent bank form does not obligate any shareholder to employment at TTC and we encourage all shareholders to complete the form, even if they may be currently employed.
Our goal is to capture the entire shareholder population in our talent bank so if you are not interested in employment at TTC at this time please mark the form as such and return it to us.
All forms received by April 1st will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $100.00 cash prizes!
It continues to be a pleasure to serve Tatitlek shareholders. We hope you are as excited about this opportunity as we are.
With appreciation,
Michelle Vlasoff
Shareholder Services Manager

Employment and Life Skills Program
Following the recognition of a need for increased shareholder support by the TTC Board of Directors, TTC has developed an Employment and Life Skills Program. The effort supports the TTC goal to assist shareholders in developing healthier and more productive lifestyles, and to directly support their acquisition of meaningful employment. The program will seek to provide assistance to increase health and wellness that will result in shareholder readiness for work and community service.
The Employment and Life Skills Program is contracted with tremendous insight and support from Mark Nelles, MS, LMFT, who will conduct a situational assessment of current TTC shareholder barriers to employment, as well as shareholder opportunities for training or services, while also being available to shareholders who seek assistance in the areas mentioned above. Mark has over ten years experience working with TTC shareholders and within the Chugach Region of Alaska. He served as Behavioral Health Department Manager for Chugachmiut for eight years and has continued to provide responsive and respectful services to TTC shareholders through his contract work with the Chugach School District. He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology (MS) and is licensed in the State of Alaska as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). His training and practice focuses on systems and organizations and as such maintains close attention to families, communities and organizations within those communities.
The Employment and Life Skills Support Program will focus on the following objectives:
• Assist individuals to develop healthy and productive behaviors and lifestyles that
support the acquisition of meaningful employment
• Conduct a situational assessment of current barriers to shareholder employment, as well
as shareholder opportunities for training or services, and provide this in summary report
by the end of the contract term
• Provide sound and accessible counseling and clinical services
• Assist shareholders in their dealings with outside health and social services agencies
• Assist in connecting individuals with other services and opportunities for wellness,
employment training, and self-development
• Assist in developing programs that are effective and responsive to shareholders needs
and requests
TTC Shareholder Services looks forward to continuing opportunities to support the TTC shareholder community and associated development needs!
Sincerely,
Travis Vlasoff
